Adaptive XR-Trainings for Human-Centered and Functional Safety Cases - XRT-HuFuSa

The project develops an extended reality (XR) training platform that combines digital twins (DTs), real-world data, and AI-driven personalization to enable practical qualification measures in safety-critical sectors such as wind energy and pharmaceuticals. This improves workforce skills and enhances the competitiveness of European enterprises. Standardized digital training formats simplify cross-border upskilling and strengthen labor mobility within the EU. The scalable platform can be transferred to additional sectors and accelerates digital transformation. Through realistic, personalized simulations, the solution enables inclusive and effective training that increases safety and supports workforce integration. The platform advances Industry 4.0 by enabling practice-oriented digital training and contributes to mitigating the shortage of skilled workers. At the same time, it reduces material consumption, travel, and emissions, leading to both ecological and economic benefits. In doing so, the project makes an important contribution to strengthening the EU economy and improving resilience to global challenges. Furthermore, the project reduces strategic dependencies of the EU, particularly in critical infrastructure sectors such as energy supply and pharmaceutical production. By enabling targeted professional training in these industries, it decreases reliance on global supply chains and strengthens regional competence centers. The use of XR, AI, and digital twins supports flexible, scalable training independent of global production networks, enhances EU crisis resilience, secures access to qualified personnel in safety-critical sectors, and strengthens innovation capacity, thereby improving long-term robustness against global risks.
