Meisterstück Digital

Meisterstück Digital – Zukunft der Ausbildung im Metallbau
Meisterstück Digital – the future of training in metalworking

Meisterstück Digital is a hands-on learning and assistance platform for metalworking companies and vocational training in South Westphalia. It brings the twin transformation, digital and sustainable, to where people work and learn, and makes everyday work more resource-efficient. The platform runs on the web and as an app and combines a digital training record, a learning diary for reflecting on progress and a competence tracker. Augmented-reality modules support standardised procedures directly at the workplace and help to build circular-economy principles into processes.

Consortium and partners

Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences coordinates the consortium of four funded partners: HSHL, South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and XRbit gUG. The platform is developed user-centred together with the chamber of skilled crafts HWK Südwestfalen, Hellweg Berufskolleg Unna and regional companies (Drahtwerk Elisental W. Erdmann GmbH, Franz Brannekemper GmbH), who bring in their own challenges, a contribution to stronger regional value chains. Pilots in the workshops provide feedback on usability, benefit and stability.

The expected benefit: faster onboarding, fewer errors and less rework, fewer detours, that is, time and resources saved for companies and learners and measurable progress in resource efficiency.

The project is funded by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia from the EFRE/JTF Programme NRW (call REGIONALE Südwestfalen) with about €1.41 million in total, from November 2026 to March 2029.
