At our lab, we explore the intersection of immersive technologies, digital health, and human experience. Our mission is to design and evaluate extended reality (XR) systems that are intuitive, impactful, and inclusive, empowering users in both everyday and clinical contexts. We advance digital health innovations through user-centered development of assistive systems, intelligent avatars, and adaptive interfaces, with a strong focus on older adults and people with cognitive or physical impairments. Grounded in psychophysiological and behavioral research, we develop new methods to measure user experience, emotion, and quality of interaction, contributing to international standards and shaping the future of human-machine interaction.
Our lab is a hub for innovation, focusing on a wide array of immersive technologies including Extended Reality (XR), Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and gaming, alongside applications of these technologies in healthcare.
Our work extends beyond the creation of immersive experiences to encompass user experience design, interaction and usability concepts, and usability engineering.
